If you choose to make an adoption plan with Adoption by Shepherd Care (ASC), we would be happy to assist you in your search. In fact, over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of women find adoptive families in Florida. We would be happy to guide you through the entire adoption process, and find a safe and loving home for your child.
What You Need to Know About Finding Adoptive Families
We Want to Help You
As a licensed Florida agency, ASC can help you find the perfect adoptive family. This process starts with getting to know your preferences. This may include what kind of adoption (open, semi-open, closed) you’d like or amount of financial assistance you will need. It could also include things like sexuality, religion, or even race. Once you finalize those choices, we’ll compile a list of adoptive families that match your preferences and provide you with their adoption profiles.
Your Choice Matters To Us
ASC prides itself in being a birth mother centric adoption agency. We will never pressure you to choose one of our adoptive families over another. We understand the importance of this decision and know that it’s one that only you can make.
ASC’s Adoptive Families Are Home-Study Approved
As required by law, ASC can only place children with adoptive families that are home-study approved and have undergone an extensive screening process. This includes a criminal background check and central abuse registry check. Every adoption profile we provide to you has been cleared to pursue adoption in Florida.
Resources + Support
Florida law permits adoptive families to assist qualified expectant mothers during their pregnancy and up to six weeks after pregnancy. These living expenses may include telephone service, clothing, food, transportation, toiletries, and insurance. In addition, you may also receive help with expenses necessary to the health and wellbeing of you and your child.
Adoption Isn’t The End
Each adoption situation is different, but adoption does not have to be the last time you see your baby. Open adoption is incredibly common. There is no standard for what an open adoption should be, but one thing is certain: the level of contact you want to have with your baby and adoptive family is up to you.
